The articles were very interesting, particularly the effect of wireless technology on ICU equipment at close range. I am surprised therefore that PDA's etc., are in use in such close proximity to the equipment, when for example cell phones are not allowed.

The articles for warm up were great, I am currently referencing the medication error reduction and the use of PDA technology by Greenfield for my final paper in this course. The study was to determine whether nursing medication errors could be reduced by using PDA's, and the results included that some errors could be reduced when having information available at the point of care which proves to be very significant in for my purposes in implementing PDAs for use in nursing education.
Interesting articles. I was surprised about the effects of wireless signals in ICUs - having only heard warnings and not real evidence before. It seems to indicate that users are best to stick to equipment and devices supplied and tested for compatability by the organization.
I am not surprised about the PDA benefits for reducing med. errors, though. I think they are great tools.
Thanks.
